About Us

Maxo began it's journey when Mr. M.S. Koolwal (B.Pharm, Hons) incorporated the first company under the name of Maxo Distributors, a pharmaceutical distribution company, in Navsari, Gujarat (India) in 1981. Mr. Koolwal is an approved registered pharmacist for manufacturing of all categories of formulations including parentals and has earlier been associated with Sarabhai Chemicals and Wyeth Ltd. At the time of inception, it was located in a 120 Sq. Ft. area with just one pharmaceutical agency (Cynamid Ltd.). Within 12 years of operation, it expanded to being stockist/authorised distributors of 30 different pharmaceutical companies including MNC's such as Ranbaxy, Bayer, Sanofi Aventis, Glaxo SmithklineBeecham, USV, Himalaya, FDC etc. The company is FDCA (Gujarat) approved and continues to grow.

In the year 1983; Maxo India was incorporated which is involved in sourcing and supplying inorganic/organic acids, bulk industrial chemicals, cast Iron boring and other chemical reagents.

In the year 1995; Mr. Koolwal incorporated Maxo Products, a customized reduction grade Cast Iron powder manufacturing company, at G.I.D.C. Navsari (Gujarat). The company started with a production capacity of 600 TPA which has now been augmented to 2400 TPA depending upon customer/buyer's specifications.

As a part of future expansion of Maxo's activities, in 2005, Mr. Sulabh Koolwal elder son under the associate company Maxo (India) Pharmachem Pvt. Ltd. has signed a MoU with Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation Ltd., Gujarat, with the aim of producing bio-diesel from non-edible feedstock. Currently the company is engaged in identifying and acquiring wasteland in Gujarat for this integrated project as per the directives of Government of Gujarat. It has already started cultivation for R&D purpose to identify and develop high yielding plant species.
